Barbara Helen (Curtis) Manning passed away on April 8, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born in Washington D.C. at Providence Hospital on November 14, 1938 to the late William T. Curtis, Sr. and Helen G. Albert.
She was raised in North Beach, Maryland where she attended Calvert Senior High School.
During her professional career, she worked as a legal secretary for several law firms until her retirement.
Barbara had a love for reading, Hallmark movies, and animals, especially poodles and birds. There was always a poodle in her house during most of her adult life.
Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her five children, Francis “Buddy” Whittington, Jr. (Jackie) of Taneytown, MD; April MacKenzie (Lou) of Centreville, MD; Lisa Woodall (Tom) of Pasadena, MD; Melody Bradshaw (Chip) of Kissimmee, FL; Jimmie Ray (JR) Merritt, Jr. (Cassie) of FL; two brothers William T. Curtis, Jr. and Clark Curtis, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant grandchild and one infant great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lookabout Manor in Westminster, Maryland for their love and care over the past four years.
