David Willie Muller

David Willie Muller, 75, of Westminster, MD passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Dove House Hospice Care in Westminster surrounded by his family. Born January 11, 1942, he was the loving husband of Sidney M. (Ferris) Muller with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage on September 9, 2017.

He was the son of the late Myrle (Buckingham) Muller and Francis Muller and stepmother Louise Muller.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Sandra L. Miller and husband David; son Douglas E. Muller; and daughter Carolyn I. Hoff and husband R. Michael; brother Emerson (Buck) Muller, Gettysburg, PA and brother and sister-in-law: Glenn and Barbara Muller, Orange, VA; sister-in-law and brother-in law Linda & Rick Eby and brother-in law and sister-in-law Ed & Jean Ferris all of Littlestown, PA; loving nieces and nephews; and grand-dog Benny.

He was predeceased by sisters Carrie Poole and Ruth Muller.

He was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Airy High School where he excelled in track & field and played trumpet in the band. After high school, he worked for Pfoutz & Sons as a saw operator. He then moved into carpentry work and custom home building with Dorsey Construction Co. and eventually founded Muller Construction Co., Inc.

He was currently a member of New Hope UMC, New Windsor and a former member of St. James UCC, Littlestown, PA. In both congregations, he served in many areas of leadership including serving as a Lay Minister; Church Treasurer; President of the congregation; and Sunday School teacher. He was formerly the treasurer of the Salem UMC Cemetery Fund. 

He loved music especially old country and bluegrass. He sang and played guitar with New Union Gospel Grass. He enjoyed listening to the Westminster Municipal Band.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster, MD with his pastor Mary Buzby officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, October 25 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in the Salem UMC Cemetery, 3500 Salem Bottom Rd.
