Debbie Ann Stem Smith

Debbie Stem Smith, 60, of Hampstead, died Sunday, September 11, 2016, surrounded by her beloved family at the Dove House after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born Jan. 12, 1956 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of Betty Leppo Stem and the late Charles Edward Stem.  She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew Laird Smith, who died Aug. 18, 2015.

She graduated from Westminster High School in 1974 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the gymnastics team.  She was employed at B.O.C. in Owings Mills.  She was a member of Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren.  She loved more than anything her mom and her dad and her family. She enjoyed life at the beach and sun bathing. She was most proud of her grand babies and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.  

Besides her mother, she is survived by a son Kyle Smith and wife Brittni of Manchester, a daughter Kacey Hudgins and husband Mike of Hanover, PA, step-son Jordan Houck of Hanover, PA, brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Debbie Stem of Hampstead, three grandchildren Kailey and Ava Toledo and Colton Leo Smith whom she loved dearly, a niece Darcie Cipollini and husband Joe, a great-niece Lydia Cipollini and her Bud-Bud doggie Bayley whom she spoiled rotten.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.  Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Tom Richard officiating.
