Doris "Joan" Norris

Doris “Joan” Norris, 86, of Westminster, died Friday, October 27, 2017, at Lookabout Manor.  Born August 22, 1931 in Kensington, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Waugh and Myrtle Johnson.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Franklin Norris, Sr. who died January 18, 1973.

Before retiring she worked at Quality Cleaners.  She enjoyed Bluegrass Music, Old Westerns and Orioles Baseball.  She attended the Arcadia Bluegrass Festival for 30 years.

She is survived by 6 children, Virginia Joan “Ginny” Jennings and husband Larry Sr. of Union Bridge; Barbara Ann Raper of Manchester; Lewis Franklin “Buddy” Norris, Jr. and wife Linda of Westminster; James Leroy Norris, Sr. of Manchester; Kenneth Wayne Norris, Sr. and wife Bonnie of Westminster; Diane Marie Klingler and husband Harold Jr. of Westminster; and daughter-in-law, Michelle D. Norris of Hampstead.  Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by a son William "Mark" Norris; a grandson Kenneth Wayne “Little Kenny” Norris, Jr.; a sister Betty Wagner; and sons-in-law, Stanley Miller, Sr. and Tony Raper, Sr. and her companion of many years, Page Wilbur Bradley.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating.  Interment will follow in Bixler’s Church Cemetery.
