Edward Dix Obituary

Edward Alfred Dix, 66, of Hampstead, died Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Dove House.  Born July 1, 1951 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Eddie Alfred Dix and Evelyn L. Morrow Dix.

Before retiring he was a Lieutenant with the Baltimore City Fire Department and served in the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 200 and Hampstead Baptist Church.  He enjoyed playing pool in a pool league and playing golf in South Carolina.  He had a great passion for music and was in several bands over the course of his life.

His grandkids were his pride and joy and what kept him going through his battle with cancer.  He had a great sense of humor which was very important to him as he kept that till the very end.

He is survived by his son Robert Caulford and wife Maria of Williamsburg, VA and daughter Christina M. Lira and husband Ernesto of Hampstead.  He was also survived by sisters and brother Catherine Walrath of Westminster; Elaine Harshbarger and husband Ed of Pasadena; Jeanne Varner and husband Gary of Glen Burnie and Charles Dix and wife Tammy of Columbia, SC; 3 grandchildren Isabel, Abigail and Reina.

He was predeceased by a brother Carl M. Dix.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
