Francis White

Francis White, 92, of Finksburg, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at Westminster Healthcare Center.  Born September 28, 1924 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Grace Bredbenner White and Frank C. White.  He was the husband of the late Elizabeth H. “May” White.

Before retiring he worked as a carpenter.  He served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Carroll Post No. 31 where he served as Past Commander, VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467 and Sandy Mount United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. 

He is survived by a son, Gary F. White of Tampa, FL and daughter Laurie White Boswell of Finksburg, daughter-in-law Heidi White, 6 grandchildren Nathan White and wife Jessica of Chicago, Ill., Adam White of Westminster, Heather Giannaccini and husband Chris of Baltimore, Lucas White and wife Fumie of Japan, Bruce and Patrick Boswell, both of Baltimore, 4 great-grandchildren Damian, Lillian, Keito and Jacob.  Also survived by nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Larry C. White, brothers Walter, William and Harold White and sisters Olive Sandusky and Mary Bowen.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Boyer and Rev. Robert Wellman co-officiating.  Interment will be in Sandy Mount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
