George L. Farina, 92, died peacefully in Carroll Lutheran Hospice on October 5, 2017. He was the son of Rose M. Fanelli and Samuel H. Farina and former husband of Myrtle H. (Larson) Farina, all who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister Rosemarie MacLauchlan; his children Cynthia, Jeffrey, Lisamarie Eustice, and Adria Farina Miller; his grandchildren Larissa Eustice and Austin Eustice, Joshua and Jordan Miller, Jesse and Livia Farina-Geiger, and Evan and John Farina; and his great-grandchildren, Sophie and Jonah Miller, and Lincoln John Sanchez.


George was born on December 18, 1924 and grew up in Lansdale Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of World War II, having been inducted into the Army at the age of 18. He was dispatched to the European Theater in 1944, completed his service as a Medical Technician Grade 3 at the 186th General Hospital in England, and was honorably discharged after returning in 1946.


George and Myrtle were married in 1953 and together they built a home in Lederach PA where they raised their family and lived for 34 years. George worked for the Synthane-Taylor Corporation joining the Company in 1956 as a Sales Associate and after 32 years, he retired from the Company as the Vice President of Sales.


Several years after retiring, he moved to Lighthouse Cove in Melbourne Beach Florida to enjoy the warm weather and the ocean. He loved to cook and entertain and had many fond memories of hosting dinner parties for family and friends. He continued to utilize his management skills by serving as the President of the Home Owners Association for over ten years. He was also a valued member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Melbourne Beach where he was a lector and volunteer for the parish.


In 2009, George moved to Carroll Lutheran Village in MD where he was provided comprehensive and compassionate care for the remainder of his life. Private funeral services are planned. Contributions in his name may be made to Carroll Lutheran Village - The Office of Philanthropy Resident Assistant Fund - 300 St Luke Circle Westminster, MD 21158
