George T Norton, Sr.

George Thomas Norton, Sr., 93, of Hampstead, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at home.  Born Nov. 21, 1924 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George T. Norton and Anna Boessel Norton.  He was the husband of the late Helen Ann Norton who died Sept. 19, 2013.

Before retiring he worked 45 years for Westinghouse/Schindler Elevator.  He was a member of St. John Catholic Church.

He is survived by 9 children, Kathleen Norton of Arbutus; Christine Knight of Owings Mills; Ellen Fisher (Michael) of York, PA; Joan Curtin (Stuart) of Westminster; George Norton, Jr. (Josette) of Mt. Airy; James Norton (Susan) of Linthicum; Timothy Norton of Westminster; Annette Rosier (Joseph) of Hanover, PA; and John Norton (Kelly) of Sykesville.  Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by 2 children, Robert and Patricia Norton, a granddaughter Erica Norton and a sister Mary Nordeck.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester with Rev. Father Michael Roach celebrant.
