James Thim

James J. “Jim” Thim, 93, of Mt. Airy, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Lorien in Mt. Airy.  Born April 21, 1923 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Mary E. Maime Kistner and James J. Thim, Sr.  Twice married, he was the husband of the late Betty Christine Jeffers and June C. Cambell.

Before retiring he was Resident Manager of 9400 Condominium in Ocean City, MD.  He was Past Grand Knight of Notre Dame, Council No. 2901 where he was very active in the Singing Knights.  He served in the Marines and was a member of the VFW.  Before moving to Westminster Ridge, he lived in Delaware and Naples Estates, FL during his retirement.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. “Betty” Keiser and husband Russell W. of Mt. Airy, a sister Mary Theresa Derwart of Catonsville, grandchildren; James Keiser and wife Virginia, William Keiser and wife Mary and T. Matthew Keiser and wife Nancy, 6 great-grandchildren Drew, Kevin, Benjamin, Kate, Brooke and T.J.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Anthony Thim, Frank and George Bauman and a sister Lillian Krebs.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster.  Inurnment with military honors will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Baltimore.
