Jessie Swann Marcus

Jessie Swann Marcus, 87, of Westminster, Maryland, formerly of Beltsville, Prince Georges County, passed away quietly on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Carroll Lutheran Village. She was born in Beltsville on August 9, 1930.   She was the daughter of the late William and Lutie Marcus.

She never married.  She devoted her life to caring for her mother Lutie until her death in 1990 and to Emmanuel Methodist Church in Beltsville, where she served in many capacities.

She is survived by a sister Opal Phelps of Greeensboro, NC.

She was predeceased by sisters Thelma Primm, Pernie Woodend, Rachel Rogers, Frankie Hunter and brothers Clemmer, Brim, Glover and Grover.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11 a.m at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158 with Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Krug Chapel.

Memorial services will also be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 11416 Cedar Lane, Beltsville, MD 20705 with Pastor Jacob Young officiating.  A reception will follow at the church.
