Jo Ann Holcomb

Jo Ann Holcomb died peacefully on December 12 at home with her family after a seven-year battle with brain cancer.  She was the daughter of Eloise and the late James Springmann. 

She was a devoted mother who spent the first half of her adult life raising her three daughters and supporting the family business.  In midlife, she reinvented herself as a successful businesswoman, working her way up to Regional Vice President at BB&T Bank in a matter of years. She loved horses, Christmas, the beach and spoiling her family. She was loved and respected by her family, friends and coworkers alike, who will all dearly miss her.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Holcomb, mother Eloise Springmann, daughters Laura McHenry, Teresa Starr and Kristin Collins, stepsons Roger and Craig Holcomb, brothers Dennis, Michael, Steven, Kurt and Richard Springmann, and twelve grandchildren, whom she adored.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. in “JoAnn’s Ballroom” at the Carriage House Inn, 200 South Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, MD.
