We met Johnny and his dad through Steve who was a dear friend and became an uncle figure for our daughter Avellina after we had made several recordings at his Backroom Studio when she was just 5 years old. Steve was a courageous soul who uplifted all those he met with that "Boose Boost" and through his positive outlook on life, even though he was challenged with insurmountable odds against him due to his numerous health conditions for many years. He would ask me to call Johnny to be an ambassador of brotherly love, and we would talk about topics such as life's ups and downs, sports, his spiritual experiences, etc. We continued after Steve's passing to touch base and share a memory or two and extend an open invitation for him to call us whenever he felt like drumming up a conversation. My daughter would talk to him of his favorite subject which was his puppy Zach. We would also get quite a chuckle out of his self-proclaimed title as "King of Kidney Stones" which chronicled his painful yet humorous stories of "Russian Roulette" with the same affliction that my daughter and I were both experiencing. At Steve's funeral, I was privileged to be a part of the eulogy and reflected on the brothers’ bond over the years such as when Johnny would sit at his bedside at the many transplant attempts and numerous hospital stays, and the loyalty of just being there for Steve. My heart was moved deeply as I witnessed John sitting in the midst the sea of saddened faces of family, friends, and acquaintances with a loneliness beyond description as he watched Avellina sing a ballad through her tears to honor his only brother Steve. Last we called him was two days before Thanksgiving 2017 on Steve's passing anniversary, Nov. 21, and then on Christmas we left messages but hadn't heard back from him. May God in His mercy grant him eternal rest and reunite him with his loving family!

Johnny,
As you begin your journey to eternity, I have to think back to when we were just kids. When I first met you and Steve in our old neighborhood, I wondered why you two were always smiling all of the time. But after being invited into your home, I soon found out. everyone in your house was always smiling and happy! Your mom and dad always showed how much they loved and supported you and Steve. As you pass through those Pearly Gates, I'm sure your mom, dad, and Steve will be there waiting for you with those huge smiles to welcome you Home. Enjoy your journey.....
Buck
