John Philip Burke III

John Philip Burke, III, 57, of Finksburg, died Friday, December 8, 2017, at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Born June 4, 1960 in Baltimore, he was a longtime cystic fibrosis survivor.  He was the son of Constance (Logsdon) Kammar and the late John Philip Burke, Jr.  

He graduated from Loyola University with honors and had over two decades of experience in the formulation of federal health care legislative and regulatory policies. Most recently, he was exercising his expertise in the development of federal medical device policies.

He is survived by two daughters, Katherine and Sarah Burke, brothers Brian and Michael Burke and sister Tice Burke Pell.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Christine Burke and Stacy Burke Danko, both of whom also had cystic fibrosis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3939 Gamber Rd., Finksburg, MD 21048.  Interment will be in Providence Cemetery.
