John William Mahlstedt, III

John William Mahlstedt, III, 51 of Hampstead died suddenly on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Carroll Hospital.

John was a loving and devoted husband to Gina Comma-Mahlstedt.  He is survived by his two sons – Richard J. Holthaus and Daniel V. Holthaus, four grandchildren – Tyler, Kaleb, Blake and Ava,  his parents – Virginia “Dee” Mahlstedt and the late John William Mahlstedt, Jr., siblings - Jamie L. Mahlstedt and the late Charles Rider, and his beloved dogs – Pache’ and the late Jake and Sunni.

John was employed 35 years at Commerce Electric/Rexel.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved animals of all kinds.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Crosswinds Church, 640 Lucabaugh Mill Road, Westminster, MD  21157 with Pastor Mike Ferrante officiating.  A luncheon for family and friends will follow at the church hall.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Gina Mahlstedt; the funds will be allocated to various charities in John’s name.
