John Roland Richardson, 92, of Westminster, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Long View Healthcare Center. Born January 10, 1926 in Edgemere, he was the son of the late Clinton Richardson and Bertha Louise Magsamen Richardson. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Louise Dinst Richardson.
Before retiring he was a welder at Keystone Electric Company. He served in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Thuban in the South China Sea. He was a Life Member of the American Legion Carroll Post No. 31 and former member of Reisterstown Moose Lodge No. 1577 and was the Prelate on the Ritual Team. He was also a member of the Optimist Club of Parkville, coached Optimist Little League football and he played semi-pro football.
Besides his wife he is survived by 3 children, Roxanne Blackburn and husband Frank of Hanover, PA; Pamela Dwyer and husband Tracy of Westminster; step-son Max Brian Mitchell and wife Terry of Holly Hills, FL. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren Laura Wyatt, Timothy and Matthew Wood, 2 great-grand-children Brennan and Aria Wyatt.
He was predeceased by a step-son, Robert Wayne Mitchell and a sister Lorraine Kuemmer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m.
