Lorraine Rita Bowen

Lorraine Rita Bowen, 93, of Westminster, formerly of Granite, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Golden Crest in Hampstead.  Born Nov. 29, 1923 in Duluth, MN, she was the daughter of the late Frank Stamm and Rachel Thue.  Her husband, Norval C. Bowen, Sr. died March 17, 1990.

Before retiring she was a School Bus Driver.  She was a member of Granite Presbyterian Church, member of Rebekah Lodge; Woman’s Club in Catonsville, enjoyed ice skating, bowling and attended New Hope Fellowship Church.

She is survived by 5 children, Norval C. Bowen, Jr. and wife Joyce of Finksburg, Wanda Thompson and husband John of Westminster, Timothy Bowen and wife Kay of Reisterstown, Brenda Garner and husband Raymond of Westminster and Robin Garheart and husband William “Bill” of Westminster, sister-in-law, Daphna “Pat” Stamm.  Also survived by 10 grandchildren Lauren and Gerry Pickett, Daren and Lisa Bowen, Craig and Jenny Bowen, Rebecca and Shane Fitzgerald, Amanda Bowen, Bridget and James Griffin, Jarrett and Stephanie Bowen, Christopher and Caitlin Garner, Adam and Laura Garheart and Lindsey Garheart, 18 great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter Alyssa Bowen.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at  Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Dent officiating.  Interment will follow in Granite Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Woodstock.
