Mary Virginia Locke

Mary Virginia (Ashby) Locke, 89, of Sykesville, died Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Hampstead.  Born September 27, 1927 in Alexandria, VA, she was the daughter of the late Julia Ashby and David H. Ashby.  She was the wife of the late James Yeates Locke.

Before retiring she worked as a dietician at Springfield Hospital.  She was a member of Church of the Ascension in Westminster, the Carroll County Kennel Club, the Poodle Club of America, the Green Spring Poodle Club and Miss Carroll’s Doll Study Club.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard H. Locke and wife Elaine of Westminster, grandsons Jonathan H. and Brandon J. Locke and nieces Mary Pushman and Jean Seawell.

Friends and family may gather on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, where memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. with Deacon  Barbara Sears officiating.
