Mary "Rusty" Ellen Smith

“Rusty” Mary Ellen Smith, 92, of Westminster, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, December 18, 2017, at the Dove House.  Born on June 4, 1925 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Roland Daley and Mary Genevieve Wilhelm Daley and she was the mother of the late Samuel A. Doney, III.

Before retiring she worked at Ashburton Savings and Loan.  She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.

She enjoyed dancing, golfing, hunting, and loved being around family and friends. She taught her sons and nephews how to hunt.

She is survived by her loving companion of 37 years, Frederick Jenkins, children Thomas P. Doney of Westminster; Scott Jenkins (Yardley) of Pennsylvania; daughters-in-law Sue Doney and Susan Marie McDowell, sister Patricia May Bearden of Woonsocket, R.I.; 7 grandchildren, Cynthia Sue Nix (Joseph R.), Joanne Ellen Santiago (Raul), Jamie Michelle Doney, Jennifer Marie Doney, Katie Jenkins, Sarah Jenkins, and Ellen Mahler.  Also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. Interment will be at Meadow Branch Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimers Association, 1850 York Rd, Suite D, Timonium, MD  21093.
