Robert "Bob" Baker, 86 of Westminster died Tuesday morning Sept. 25, 2007 at the Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center. Born October 16, 1920 in Uxbridge, Massachusetts he was the son of the late Taeke Baker and Teresa Postma Baker. He was the husband of Gertrude Baker his wife of 61 years. Before retiring he worked for Oscar Mayer in Miami, FL. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Westminster. Surviving besides his wife is son and daughter-in-law; Terry S. and Debbie Baker of Canberra, Australia, daughters and sons-in-law; Marilyn Tuls Halstead and Steven K. Halstead of Westminster and Ellen and Gary Whiting of Newport News, VA, sisters and brother-in-law; Harriet LaFleur and Catherine and Ray Bangma all of Whitinsville, MA, 8 grandchildren; Jim and Sherry Roscoe, Vanessa and Alisha Baker, Greg Halstead, Jennifer, Cristian and Michelle Whiting, 3 great grandchildren; Bryan, Elyse and Chrystopher Roscoe. Memorial service will be held at Carroll Lutheran Village Krug Chapel on Thursday 7 PM with his pastor the Rev. Walter Peters officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Garrison Forrest Veteran Cemetery with military honors.
