Robert Maxwell Cockerille

Robert Maxwell Cockerille, 82, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at home.  Born June 18, 1935 in Warrenton, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Maxwell Cockerille and Helen Elizabeth Edwards.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janice P. Cockerille.

Before retiring he worked as a supervisor for Giant Foods and the last 20 years for Berens Asset Management in Washington D.C. He enjoyed spending time with family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 5 children Bobby Cockerille and Mary of LaPlata, Scott Cockerille and wife Devra of West River, Todd Cockerille and wife Kristin of Baltimore, Jason Cockerille and wife Liz of Towson, Michele Cockerille and wife Gina of Mechanicsville, sister Harriette Atkins and husband Tim of BelAir, 15 grandchildren Kristy, Robert, Dylan, Dennis, Melissa, Amanda, Chase, Shane, Sydney, Savanah, Sierra, Chandler, Daryl, Darren and Fallon, 6 great-grandchildren Taylor, Austin, Jacob, Kaylee, Brooke and Zelda.  Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 15th from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at The American Legion Glen Burnie Post No. 40, 500 5th Ave., SE, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, 44724 Hospice Lane, Callaway, Md. 20620.
