Sarah Louise (Kern) Hubbard, 87, of Westminster, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born Oct. 4, 1930 in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte Mitchell Kern and the late Frederick Kern. She was the loving wife of Benjamin H. Hubbard for 66 years.
She was employed as a secretary at MD Farm Bureau and was a homemaker. She was a former member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church where she worked in the nursery. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, giving and caring for others.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William R. Hubbard and wife Myra Lee of Ellicott City; David K. Hubbard and wife JoAnne of Westminster; and James H. Hubbard and wife Karen of Westminster. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Ben, Lisa and Kyle Hubbard, a great-granddaughter Jasmine, nieces Carol, Cherie and Beth Hull, nephew Charles, and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Hull.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Jimmie L. Schwartz and Rev. Samuel Nsengiyumva co-officiating. Interment will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
