Charlene Ann Hall, 81, of Westminster, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Carroll Hospital Center.  Born Aug. 22, 1930 in Peru, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Walter Halm and Virginia Davison Halm.

Before retiring she worked 30 years as a LPN at Carroll County General Hospital and then worked several years at a nursing home.  She was the owner of  Humpty Dumpty Daycare School.

She was a past president of the Maryland Nurses Association and past board member of the National LPN Association.

She taught Sunday school for several years at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and for the First United Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed her family and was an avid reader.

Survived by daughter and son-in-law Charmayne and David Webster of Monkton, sons and daughter-in-law Gregg Zepp of Hanover, Pa., Terry and Melba Hall of Westminster, Michael Hall of Westminster, Scott “Woody” Hall of Towson, Mace Hall of Westminster, one sister Jeanne Janewicz of Wisconsin, one brother Walter Halm of Ill., half-sisters Cherie Doonan and Patty Hurt and half-brother Richard Toelle, 14 grandchildren David Hollman, Ryann Toomey, Kate Noonan, Gregg Zepp II, Wyatt, Zebadiah, Jacob, Levi, Marissa, Corey, Dillon, Colton, Delaney Hall and Ryan Becraft; 4 great-grandchildren Kylie Toomey, Hunter and Chase Hollman and Degan Becraft.

She was predeceased by her son Randy Hall in 1966 and her grandson Zachary Hall in 1996.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Joe Cinquino officiating.  Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.

My sincere condolences to Charlene's family and friends. I had the honor of working and knowing Charlene many many years ago when I worked at Carroll County General Hospital as a Orderly and then as a Nursing Technician. Charlene was a great person to know and always had a funny side that I will remember.

My sympathy goes out to the family of Charlene Hall, I did some painting of her house and fence many years ago, she was a great lady.
