Ida Williams “Dolle” Bowman, 67, of Taneytown, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Carroll Hospital Center after a two year battle with lung cancer.  Born Feb. 24, 1945 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Emerson Williams and Anna Margaret Johnson Williams.  She was the wife of 8 years to Robert K. Bowman.

Before retiring she worked for the State of Maryland.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Westminster.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Joe Carico of Westminster, sisters Claire Evans of Baltimore, Sharon Keyes and husband Dave of Manchester and Laurie Laun of Eldersburg, 4 grandchildren Joe III, Jake, Samantha and Jonathan Carico, 5 step-children, 16 step-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, 3 nephews, 1 great nephew and devoted friends Judy and Frank Lanahan of Finksburg.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 595 Johann Dr., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church with Bishop Daniel Nerenberg conducting and President Jeff Cook presiding.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be offered to Carroll Regional Cancer Center, 555 S. Center St., Westminster, MD 21157.

Laurie and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope and pray that you all find comfort in one another and in the knowledge that though she is no longer with you she lives on in the memories you have, the laughter you share and the love that you show for one another.
