Elaine Elizabeth Brown

Elaine Elizabeth Brown, 88, of Westminster, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Nova Springs Assisted Living. Born February 13, 1936 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Russell Alvin Close and Florence Viola Mae Erb Close. She was the beloved wife of the late David Otha Brown, Sr.

Before retiring she worked at the Carroll Hospital Center as a sterilization technician. She enjoyed going shopping, to yard sales and tending to her flower gardens. She especially loved spending time with her family on Sunday’s. She was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church in Silver Run.

She is survived by her children Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Calp and her significant other Curt Cullison, Sr. of Hampstead and David Otha Brown, Jr. and his wife Patti of Westminster; siblings June Rittase and Ronald Close (Sandy); grandchildren Christina (Chris), Michele (Darrin), Clif and Zack and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by an infant brother and siblings Eugene “Bud” Close, Donald Lee Close and Patsey Ellison Brown; grandchildren Brittany Wojnowski and Parker Tucker.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Silver Run.
