Martha Rae Hamilton

Martha Rae Hamilton, family matriarch, born February 27, 1938, passed away on Thursday April 4, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born, one of nine children, to Charles and Anna Hamilton. With Martha’s death, all the siblings of that generation are now gone. Martha is predeceased by her two daughters, Diane Christ and Devi Quigley-Rice, and one son, Damon Quigley and her long time companion of over 30 years, Michael A. Cunio.

Martha is survived by her sons Darren Randolph, Duane R. Randolph and wife Susan, eleven grandchildren; Ashton Christ, Richard Rice III, Samantha Humphreys, Leah Hallfors, Jessica Quigley, Allison Randolph, Stephanie Maxsell, Dana Steig, Leslie Randolph, Liam Quigley, Shayne Quigley and ten great-grandchildren.

Early in life, Martha opened a noted beauty salon, working full time and put herself through college while having five children. She accomplished this by nursing a child in one arm and studying a book in the other arm. She graduated with the highest honors, earning two Master’s Degrees. She became a teacher for many years, a real estate investor, and ran Hamilton Insurance Associates. She became the highest producing insurance agent in the country for long term care insurance while mentoring her sons who followed her into the same business.

Martha, in recent years, picked up photography as hobby earning several awards in the field. She served as a moderator for webinars for online photography clubs. She enjoyed bird watching, photography, traveling to the beach, learning about new technology, and was a voracious reader, but especially enjoyed her family’s successes, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha possessed a grace and determination that propelled her to the top of any profession she pursued; a force of nature and was unstoppable. Martha passed peaceably in her own home with family by her side. We celebrate her life and profoundly mourn her passing. We feel blessed to have been a part of Martha’s life and her many blessing of love and support.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 28th, 2024 at 11:00 at Fletcher’s Funeral Home, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157.
