Timothy Travis Atkins

Timothy Travis Atkins, 76, of Bel Air, MD, died on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at home. Born September 28, 1947, in Dallas, NC, he was the son of the late Jennings Dorsey Atkins and Ruth High Atkins.  He was the loving husband of 30 years to Harriette Elizabeth Atkins.

Tim was a 1965 graduate of Dallas High School and went on to graduate from Western Carolina University, where he was president of his fraternity, Theta Xi. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Cockeysville. He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan and held season tickets for both stadiums for multiple years. Tim also enjoyed playing tennis and golf and loved traveling to new places with Harriette. He was the owner operator of Mark Electronics in Beltsville, MD, for thirty-plus years. He was a brilliant salesman, and had a gift and love for talking with people. Tim treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a very proud grandfather and showed it by the quality time he spent with them. Tim also enjoyed sharing stories about his youth and had a great sense of humor. Two of his favorite foods were hot dogs and R.O.s BBQ. His Thursday night poker game with his good buddies was something Tim always looked forward to each week.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Anthony Travis Atkins of Wilmington, NC; Lori Atkins Shaw (Jim) of Dallas, NC; Donna Tester Stephens (David) of Pasadena, MD; Edward Eugene Tester, Jr. of Bel Air, MD; Michael Tester (Michele) of Thurmont, MD; Tammy Tester Haloskey (Bob) of Harrisburg, VA; brother Michael Atkins of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren: Andrew, Elizabeth, and Samuel Shaw; Melanie Reek (Matt); Nicholas Tester; Leah Rockwood (Zack); Mitchell Tester; Cody Gehring; Rob Haloskey (Sarah); Amy Haloskey (Paige); great-grandsons, Lucas Reek and Xander Haloskey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Atkins.

Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m.
