Albert Ritchie Kelbaugh, 83, of Westminster, died Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Dove House after a brief illness. Born June 28, 1934 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Marie (Miller) Kelbaugh and Lewis Kelbaugh. He was the loving husband of 63 years to Laverne “Susie” (Lippy) Kelbaugh.
Before retiring he worked 38 years for 3M National Advertising. He was a 1954 graduate of Westminster High School. He was a member of St. Benjamin’s (Krider’s) Lutheran Church, the Deep Run Gun Club, Westminster Rifle Club, North Carroll Rod and Gun Club and former member of the Moose Lodge No. 1381. He enjoyed golfing, trap shooting with the Heart of Maryland and was a Ravens fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 7 children and spouses, Sharon Wolf and husband Bentley of Hanover, PA; Linda Barrick and husband Herman of Charlestown, WV; Kathy Carnegie and husband Richard of Westminster, Cindy McCarty and husband Timothy of Columbia, SC; Wanda Campitelli and husband Joseph of Westminster; Mark Kelbaugh and wife Carol of Westminster and Bryan Kelbaugh and wife Kerry of Hanover, PA; sisters Edith Little and Mildred Scroggs. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter Heather Lee Barrick in 1988 and a son-in-law Gary E. Bollinger in 1981.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church, 700 Krider’s Cemetery Rd., Westminster, with his pastor, Rev. David S. Schafer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Silver Run.
