Barry Douglas May

February 15, 1949 ~ September 16, 2017 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Barry Douglas May

2/15/1949 – 9/16/2017

Barry was my brother and one of the most interesting and frustrating person, I have ever know.  He was in a band, “The Dimensions”, in high school (1963) played bass and saxophone, and continued to play music until the 2000’s.  “The Dimensions” was one of the most popular bands in the Northern Virginia/Maryland area in the early 60’s.  Some people may remember them.  He lived in Germany in the 80’s, Hawaii and England in the 90’s and played with some fairly well known bands along the way.

Barry worked for ManTech, a government subcontractor for 27 years and traveled all over the world.  He then worked for AVID, also as a subcontractor, for 3 more years, before the federal government used sequester to shut those contracts down.

He wanted all of his friends and neighbors in Manchester, Maryland to know how much he appreciated all of their help with his cats and things around the house as he continued to decline.

Barry is survived by his sister Karen Hubsch and husband Lynn David and their children, McKenna and Ethan; his brother Randy May and wife Liz and their children Chris, Jon and his family and Brian and his family.

He will be interred at the Columbarium in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alley Cat Allies, 7920 Norfolk Avenue, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
