Betty Jean McDaniel

Betty Jean McDaniel, 89, of Westminster, MD died Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Maryland Masonic Home. Born June 3, 1928 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Smith Frye and Charm Virginia Gano Frye. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Jacob W. McDaniel Jr and her daughter Lisa D. Becker.

In her younger years, she worked at the Rose Shop in Martinsburg, WV. Her passion in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening and taking care of her pool. Betty was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan.

She is survived by her two children Rhonda K. Gosnell and husband Dave of Westminster and Keith W. McDaniel and wife Paula of Westminster. She is also survived by son-in-law David Becker of Hanover, PA, brother Ronald Frye and wife Martha of WV and sister-in-law Anise Frye of WV and 6 grandchildren Patrick Stem and wife Emily, Philip Stem and fiancé Becca Serio, Paige and Leah Becker, Kaitlyn and Kyle McDaniel.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Nancy Ginsberg, Chaplain of Carroll Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
