Carol A. Hoffman, 72, of Westminster, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at her home. Born on July 11, 1947 in Vallejo, California, she was the daughter of the late Howard W. Calver and Reba A. Yandeau Calver. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John M. Hoffman III.
She spent her childhood in coastal Connecticut, later moving outside of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a teenager. Carol earned her undergraduate degree from Shippensburg State College and taught in several school districts. She enjoyed crafting and went on to manage her own successful sewing business. Carol enjoyed spending time at the beach, supporting the Baltimore Ravens, birdwatching with her husband, and baking. Most important to her was the time she spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters: Gretchen L. Banks and husband Corey, Jenny M. Hoffman, and Molly A. Hoffman; two brothers William H. Calver, and Andrew A. Calver; and one sister Patricia K. Harner. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
As she was an advocate for women's issues, donations can be made to the House of Ruth in memory of Carol.
