Catherine Louise Williams

Catherine Louise Williams, 96, of Westminster, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Martin’s Care Home where she had been a resident for the last 10 years.  Born Jan. 21, 1922 in Pleasant Valley, she was the daughter of the late John E. Study and Mary Bemiller Study.  She was the wife of the late Chester Leroy Williams who died Sept. 12, 2002.

Before retiring she worked at several shoe factories.  She volunteered many hours at Carroll Hospital and was a member of the Carroll Hospital Auxiliary and St. Mary’s United Church of Christ.  She enjoyed needlework, gardening, music, reading, crocheting and playing cards.

She is survived by daughter Bonnie Schaefer and husband Dan of Hampstead; daughter-in-law Lisa H. Williams of New Market; 2 grandchildren Christian H. Williams and wife Francesca Martone of Frederick and Andrea L. Williams of Philadelphia, PA.  Also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son Chester Larry Williams who died Nov. 30, 2010 and siblings Elizabeth Shamer, Vernon Study and Roy Study.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Eric Marstellar officiating.  Interment will be at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
