Edward Robert “Ed” Kriston, Jr., 68, of Westminster, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Carroll Hospital. Born Feb. 13, 1950 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edward Robert Kriston Sr. and Gertrude Knighton Kriston. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cindy Kriston.
He spent most of his working career in the automotive industry. He served in Vietnam with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment from 1968-1969 where he was a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He taught in the Automotive Dept. at Catonsville Community College and also retired from AAA as a Territory Manager.
He was a member of the VFW, DAV and BARC. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Patriot Guard, loved to fish with friends and family, was a member of the Tidewater Bass Club and was a Ham Radio Operator-K3CAV.
Besides his wife, he is survived by daughter Jeri Lyn Demas Elick and husband Nelson of Westminster; a brother Charles Kriston and wife Marian of Roxboro, NC; grandchildren Christopher Childers and Jordan Elick, brother-in-law David Blevins of Newport News, VA; brother-in-law John Ramsey and sister-in-law Ginny Mudrock of Huntingtown, MD.
He was predeceased by a brother Mark Kriston and sister Lynne Wright.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Charles Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
