Edward William “Prof” Nichols, 89, of Reisterstown, died Friday, July 20, 2018 at home. Born November 18, 1928, in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Harvey E. Nichols and Lois E. Scott Nichols. He was the husband of the late Suzanne R. Nichols.
Before retiring, he was an Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse. He was an avid line dancer and a wonderful teacher of line dancing. He was an instructor of Line Dancing at the Carroll Lutheran Village and a member of the Line Dancing classes at the Carroll Senior Center. He was also a member of the largest and oldest High IQ Society, Mensa International. He enjoyed making homemade wine and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter Betty Taylor and husband Gary of Finksburg, his son Bill Nichols of Huntsville, AL; brother James Nichols and wife Hazel of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Greg Nichols of Washington, DC and Alexandra Nichols and husband Sasha Bentley of Brooklyn, NY; numerous nieces and nephews and close friend Joan Livezey.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 11501 Garrison Forest Rd., Owings Mills, MD. 21117.
