Elizabeth M Stansfield

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Stansfield, 88, of Littlestown, PA, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Gettysburg Hospital.  Born February 10, 1929 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Grace Koontz Menchey and James L. Menchey, Sr.  She was the wife of the late George M. Stansfield.

Before retiring she worked at Random House in the traffic department.  She enjoyed Baltimore Orioles baseball, crocheting and traveling.

She is survived by daughter Jeannie Cubbage of Littlestown, PA and son Michael Wayne Barnes, Sr. and wife Kathy of Hanover, PA, brothers James L. Menchey, Jr. of Westminster, grandchildren Heidi Cubbage and husband Dennis of Biglerville, PA, Holly Cubbage-Adams and husband Scott of Littlestown, PA and Michael Wayne Barnes, Jr. of Georgetown, DE.  Also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister Evelyn Hill and brothers Charles E. and Donald Menchey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Charles Barnhart, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Gamber.
