Ernest C. “Bud” Walkling, 82, of Westminster, died Thursday, October 18, 2018, at FutureCare Cherrywood in Reisterstown. Born on May 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Ernest R. “Pumpy” Walkling and Mary “Louise” Owings Walkling. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years L. Kathleen Smith Walkling.
Ernest graduated from Westminster High School in 1954. He was a farmer, and also worked at Black and Decker, and Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic. He enjoyed dirt track racing and NASCAR. He was a member of Deer Park United Methodist Church and the Deer Park Lions Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Randy C. Walkling of Finksburg, Ralph E. Walkling and Fiance MissC Raver of Hanover, Pa., 6 grandchildren Richie Walkling and wife Carleen of Pasadena, Jen Walkling of Westminster, Cody Walkling of Littlestown, Pa., Jessica Walkling of Finksburg, Chad Walkling of Finksburg, Lindsey Walkling of Littlestown, Pa., 2 great-granddaughters A.J. Walkling and Braelyn Walkling, and a daughter-in-law Teresa Groft Walkling. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by sons R. Charles Walkling who died December 10, 2016, and Ray Allen Walkling who died November 22, 1995. He was also predeceased by his sister Joan Reese.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 East Main St., Westminster, Md. 21157 with Rev. Dr. Steven Cho officiating.
Interment will follow at Deer Park Cemetery in Smallwood.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 22, 2018, from 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 p.m.
