George M. Shatzer

George M. Shatzer, Jr., 49 of Westminster died suddenly Monday Feb. 18, 2008 at the Carroll Hospital Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Dec. 8, 1958 in Hanover, PA he was the son of John and Margaret Frisby of Westminster and the late George M. Shatzer, Sr. He was the husband of Judi Ann Shatzer his wife of 20 wonderful years. He served in the Navy and was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Post # 31. He was a very devoted employee of the shipping and receiving department at General Dynamics of Westminster. He was an avid NASCAR Fan and his favorite driver was Kurt Busch. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his children; Roger and Steve Sykes of Westminster, Shane and Crystal Sykes of Union Mills, grandchildren; Casey, Debra, Kaitlin, Colby, Kade and Shane Jr., sister and brother-in-law; Bonnie and Rob Pittinger, brothers and sisters-in-law; William and Sandi Shatzer, Matthew and Betty Shatzer, brother; Tristynn Frisby all of Westminster, stepbrothers and stepsisters; Linda, Mickey, Joyce and Mark. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 11 AM at the Fletcher Funeral Home, P.A., 254 E. Main St., Westminster with Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
