Godfrey Gordon “Butch” Miller, Jr., 58 of Finksburg, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born November 14, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Godfrey G. Miller Sr., and Florence Robinson Miller. He was the husband of Margaret A. “Maggie” Miller.
He worked as a mechanic at Vulcan Materials Company. He was a member of the Taneytown American Legion Post #120, Westminster Moose Lodge # 1381 and St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens Fan, enjoyed boating, fishing and toying around with old cars, and taking his family to Ocean City every summer.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Cody and Bella Miller both of Finksburg, brothers and sisters-in-law Bill Miller and Tammy of Taneytown, Garland Miller and Vicky, sister and brothers-in-law Joyce Dayhoff and Shane, and a sister Florence Miller all of Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
