Howard D Gill, Sr.

Howard D. Gill, Sr., 90, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Westminster, died Friday, August 3, 2018, at home.  Born Oct. 5, 1927 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William Gill and Katherine Williams Gill.  His wife Jessie A. Gill died April 21, 2007. 

He retired from Westinghouse Electric in 1991.  He had a great love for country music and enjoyed playing the steel guitar in several bands in the Westminster area.  He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. 

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Howard D. Gill, Jr. and Andrea Gill of Hanover, PA; daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn L. Love and William Love of Westminster; Barbara A. Weinberg and Irvin Weinberg of Hanover, PA; 6 grandchildren Scott Love and wife Kelli Love of Westminster; Lisa M. Zimmerman of Westminster; Melisa Hannon and husband DJ Hannon of Hanover; Heather Petry and husband Kyle Petry of Hanover; Jason Weinberg of Hanover and Jonathan Gill and wife Mindi Gill of Taneytown.  He was blessed to have 14 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother Lawrence Gill and sisters Dorothy Billett and Betty Palmer.   

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerome Beers of Hanover Wesleyan officiating.  Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
