Jason Carroll Leister

Jason Carroll Leister, 40, of Westminster MD, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Born on January 17, 1977 in Westminster, he was the son of Jeffrey Milton Leister and Deborah Strauss Leister of Westminster, now residing in Hanover Pa.

He attended Westminster High School with his class of 1995 but received his diploma from South Carroll High School in 1996.

He worked for Thomas Roofing early in life until starting a career as an electrician with Star Electric, receiving his MD State Electrician’s Certification in 2004. The highlights of his career was employment with M C Dean Building Intelligence of Virginia working as an electrician on a large project at the Patuxent Naval Base. Jason worked as an electrician as part of several companies who won the bid to install all the electrical and communication work for the Gaylord National Harbor & Hotel in Prince Georges County MD. In recent years, he was employed with Maxmore Hill Restoration of Linthicum Md as a general masonry laborer.

He is survived by his parents.  He is also survived by two daughters, Natalie Faith and Miabell Leister and their mother Joy Michelle Leister of Westminster, sisters Jennifer Getz Miller and husband Ronald of Westminster and Rebecca Leister Mayle and husband Duane of Hanover, Pa, brother Brandon Leister of Bellevue, NE.  Surviving nephews, Taylor Getz, Branson and Eddie Leister, and nieces, Phoenix and Ava Leister.

He was a powerhouse of strength, goodwill, knowledge, and loved with a huge heart. At times, the struggle was very hard to stay at the top of his game. He looked forward to time with his girls and regretted the time lost with a son. His RC cars provided hours of enjoyment as well as neighborhood entertainment. Recent trips to West Virginia gave him time in God’s world with friends and reminded him of time spent in his youth camping and canoeing. 

A Memorial Celebration will be held Sunday October 8th at 12 noon in Kings Park on Chase Street in Westminster, MD.
