Joseph Lettau Obituary

Joseph Edward Lettau, 72, of Hampstead, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, at home.  Born May 13, 1946 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Helen (Matt) Lettau and William Lettau, Sr.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Terry Lettau. 

He most recently worked as a Bailiff for the Carroll County Circuit Court.  He retired from the Baltimore City Police Dept., Manchester Police Dept. and the State of Maryland General Services Police Dept.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, F.O.P and the American Legion in Hampstead.  He enjoyed working, all sports and mowing his grass. 

Besides his wife he is survived by children Danielle, Jeffrey, Shane, Chadd and Kyle Lettau, grandchildren Miriam, Kaylee, Clara, Erin, Zoe, Brooklyn and Harper and dog Maggie.

He was predeceased by a brother William “Bill” Lettau, Jr.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Manchester Fire Department Activities Building, 3297 York St., Manchester, MD 21102.  Please bring a story to celebrate.
