Kenneth Anthony Haj, 69, of Westminster, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at home. Born February 15, 1948 in Lackawanna, New York, he was the son of the late Walter Haj and Marie Woyshner Haj.
Survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kenna Kelly Haj.
He graduated in 1974 with a Masters of Science and Education from the State University of New York College in Buffalo. He taught English in Baltimore City School System for 31 years and also at Century High School. He was an Adjunct English Professor at Baltimore County Community College and Carroll Community College. He was a member of the Westminster United Methodist Church and was a Past President of the Westminster Lions Club in 2005 – 2006.
Besides his wife he is survived by 3 daughters Jennifer Smith of Orchard Park, N.Y., Rachel and Meghan Haj of Westminster, 2 sisters Cynthia Haj of Rochester, N.Y., Patricia “Patsi” Haj of Lackawanna, N.Y., 1 brother Thomas Haj of Baltimore and 1 grandson Connor Haj of Westminster.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westminster United Methodist Church 165 E. Main Street, Westminster with his pastors Rev. Malcolm Stranathan and Rev. Shari McCourt officiating.
A private interment was held at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
