Leona Ann DuVall

Leona Ann DuVall, 85, of Westminster, died Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Lorien in Mount Airy. Born on February 22, 1933 in Cranberry, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Hammett. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Emerson Duvall, who died April 23, 2004. She was also predeceased by a sister June Jenkins.

Before retiring, Leona was the business manager for Mobile Welding Service. She was a member of the Carroll County Gun Club, and volunteered at the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a lifelong member of Westminster United Methodist Church. She graduated from St. John’s Parish School. She was an avid motorcyclist, rose gardener, bird watcher, sports fan, and enjoyed following the Baltimore Orioles.

She is Survived by 2 children, Donna DuVall Shaeffer and husband Robert of Westminster, Robert E. DuVall and wife Patsi of Lawrenceville, Ga., 3 grandchildren Nicole Pomeroy of Westminster, Laci Soaper and husband Justin of Spring Grove, Pa., Rob DuVall of Lawrenceville, Ga., great-grandchildren Daniel Pomeroy of Westminster, and Jameson Soaper of Spring Grove, Pa. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Donna DuVall Sellman of Delaware, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 20, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 East Main St., Westminster, Md. 21157.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Malcolm Stranathan officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
