Linda Carol Eyler, 65, of New Oxford, PA, died Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Hanover Hospital. Born September 5, 1952 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Edna Young Eyler of New Oxford, PA and the late Kenneth W. Eyler.
She was a 1st grade teacher at Taneytown Elementary School for 30 years. She was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Class of 1970, Frostburg State College and Western Maryland College. She volunteered and worked at the Greater Hanover Chapter of the American Red Cross for 10 years.
She was a life member of St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and her cat, watching the Baltimore Orioles and playing bingo.
Besides her mother, she is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cindy Eyler of New Oxford, PA; a nephew Brian Eyler of Portland, OR; an aunt, Carolyn Eyler of Frederick; cousins Julie Eyler and Carol Eyler, both of Frederick, Patricia Sower and husband Steve of Martinsburg, WV; and Larry Eyler and wife Linda of New Windsor.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church, 700 Krider’s Cemetery Rd., Westminster, MD 21158. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon with her Pastor, Rev. David S. Schafer officiating. Interment will be in Krider’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church, ACSPCA or the American Red Cross.
