Marcia Faye Gorsuch, 67, of Westminster, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018, surrounded by loved ones after a year-long battle with cancer. Born September 29, 1951 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Augustus Emerson Joy and Catherine Louise Raines-Joy.
Marcia was a stay at home mom of 6 children. She also worked at Baugher’s Restaurant and Orchard in Westminster and Thunderhead Bar & Grille in Taneytown.
She enjoyed yard sales and growing her collections of cookie jars, unicorns, ladybugs and snowmen. She was an excellent baker and cook. She was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with all her children. Mom Mom loved playing with the grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports too. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
She is survived by children and spouses, Alana Moore-Yelton and husband Carl of Westminster; Anna Gorsuch-Duttera and husband Brian of Littlestown, PA; Robert Gorsuch and wife Crystal of Littlestown, PA; Amy Gorsuch and boyfriend Christopher Felker of Westminster and Amanda Gorsuch and boyfriend Kristofer Marshall of Atlanta, GA; sisters Catherine “Elaine” Hawkins-Beares and husband Thomas “Buz” Beares and Anna Joy-Hahn and husband Paul Hahn, Jr., and brother Thomas Joy, grandchildren Carrie, Zachary, Peyton, Justin, Megan, Carlee, Ashlynn, Jacob and grand cat Mufasa.
She was predeceased by a daughter Peggy Sue Gorsuch.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Prayer services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow Meadow Branch Cemetery.
