Marilyn Jean McClure, 86, of Hampstead, died Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born November 9, 1932 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Kulick) Baker, Alice Baker and Frank J. Baker. Twice married, she was the wife of the late Robert C. “Bob” Baker and the late Grover Lee “Bud” McClure, Jr.
She was a very hard worker who held numerous jobs which included an assembly employee, cleaning business and caretaker of the elderly and numerous friends. She enjoyed pets, gardening and reading mysteries. Most of all she was an outstanding friend, sibling, grandmother, and devoted mother to her son Reese. She was the rock of her family and her siblings. They had many years filled with laughter & fun.
She is survived by a son Reese J. Baker, Sr. of Westminster; brothers Tom and Chris Baker, a sister Pat East, grandchildren Reese J. Baker, Jr., Amie Canfield, Kady Baker, great-grandchildren Hannah and Micah Baker and Jackie and Gabrielle Canfield.
She was predeceased by her brothers Frank Baker, Jr. and Bobby Baker.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. where funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Interment will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury, NC.
