Mary Virginia Hierstetter

M. Virginia Hierstetter, 94, passed away October 25, 2018. Born December 13, 1923 in Manchester, MD., she was the daughter of the late Clyde R. & Ovie Kathryn Miller Ecker. She was a life-long resident of Carroll County. She was the wife of the late Albert Lawrence Hierstetter whom she married in 1960.

She was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1941. After graduating from the Baltimore Business College, she was employed by the Wallace & Gale Company in Baltimore for nineteen years where she was a corporate secretary, then retired in 1993 from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) as a secretary. She was a charter member of the Westminster Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She is survived by her son, Larry R. Hierstetter and grandchildren Shelley Hierstetter and fiancé Tim Hall, Megan Cooper and husband Alex Cooper and Matthew Hierstetter, her sister Dorothy Ecker Hansen and step-daughter and husband Diane & John Sybor & family.

She was predeceased by brothers Vernon, Monroe, and Chester Ecker and sister Erma Ecker Frock.

At her request there will be no visitation. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
