Michael Clark Pappas

Michael Clark Pappas, 62, of Westminster, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the University of Maryland Medical Center.  Born August 25, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Lois E. (Blevins) Pappas and John Samuel Pappas.  He is survived by his wife, Darlyn Rose Pappas and his beloved dog, Peanut.

Before retiring he was employed as a car parts expert.  He also was an accomplished luthier, building and repairing guitars and other stringed musical instruments. He graduated from North Hagerstown High School and was a member in numerous bands. He was a Patriot and God-fearing man who loved his God, Country and Family. 

Besides his wife and dog, he is survived by a step-son, Ryan Szczepanik, brothers John S. Pappas and wife Lucy of Back Creek Valley, WV and Chris T. Pappas and wife Debra of Williamsport, MD, nieces and nephews, J. David Pappas, Timothy C. Pappas, Rebecca Pappas, Jason P. Spessard and Jarod S. Spessard, maternal aunt Betty J. Payne, paternal uncle Nick Pappas, paternal aunts Rita Pappas Jones and Ethel Pappas.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Boulevard, Westminster, Maryland 21157. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.  Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Christian Broadcasting Network 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23463.
