Paul Edwin Weidner, 97, of Westminster, AKA Paw-Paw by the staff at Transitions, died Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Transitions Healthcare Oakland Manor. Born June 7, 1920, in Berrett, he was the son of the late Stuart Weidner and Cora Pittinger Weidner. He was the loving husband of 76 years to the late Grace Marie Muller Weidner who died June 6, 2017.
Before retiring he worked for Black and Decker for 23 years, the Carroll County Board of Education for 10 years, and in later years he collected and recycled newspapers. He was a member of the First Church of God in Westminster. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard P. and Sandra Weidner, Maurice L. and Lana Weidner, and a daughter Lucinda “Cindy” Shaffer, all of Westminster. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers William, Walter, and Harvey Weidner, and a sister Margaret Kauffman. He was also predeceased by a son-in-law Roger L. Shaffer.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Carroll Hospice Chaplain Rev. Nancy Ginsberg Officiating.
