Paul "Bud" P Wingate

Paul P. “Bud” Wingate, 72, of Hanover, PA, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Carroll Hospital Center.  Born July 7, 1945 in Baltimore City, he was the son of the late Marguerite Wingate and late Clyde Wingate and late step-mother Nellie.  He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda (Franey) Wingate.

Before retiring he worked 30 years as a Baltimore City Police Officer.  He also worked as a Police Officer in Taneytown and Baltimore County, was a U.S. Marshal and worked security at Ravens and Orioles games.

He was a member of F.O.P., enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, time in OBX and Ocean City and his police family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Wendy M. Wingate of Hanover, PA; and Diana Wingate-Gaiser and husband Andrew of Manchester, sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Dick Wardenfelt of Westminster; brothers Joe, Jack, Jim, and Tom Burke, grandchildren Aidan and Colin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.  Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m.  Interment will be private.
