Pedro Ruiz Rodriguez

Pedro Ruiz Rodriguez, 69, of Westminster, died on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at his home.  Born August 1, 1948 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Pedro Ruiz Valentin and Vicenta Rodriguez Rosado.

He moved to Westminster in 1976 . He worked at the Labor Camp and lived in a farmhouse with 15 other Puerto Ricans, they all came as one big bunch. His friends from Westminster knew him as “Peter”. He was always hanging out at Sheetz gettin’ Bonnie’s iced tea. He enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets. He loved spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Hinkhaus, his daughter Vanessa Lynne Morris and husband Keith of Hampstead, his son Luis Antonio Ruiz and wife Allicia of Westminster, 3 grandchildren Jourdan Steiner, Marquis Morris and Vera Ruiz. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Lissette Hernandez-Tanner of Raleigh, NC, Alberto Santana-Ruiz of Hartford, CT, Soraya Hernandez of Trujillo Alto, PR, Mayra Hernandez of Trujillo Alto, PR,  Vifredo Santana-Ruiz of Hartford, CT., and sisters Carmen Iris Ruiz of Trujillo Alto, PR and Francis Ruiz of Hartford, CT.

He was predeceased by his brothers Antonio Ruiz Rodriguez and Wilfredo Ruiz Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 2 to 4, 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m., at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A. 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon Charles Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
